Overview
In response to the community's needs in Canal and Sinai region, the department works on providing qualified human cadres able to practice the profession and serve the community to meet the needs of the informational labor market in different sectors in Egypt.
Mission
The department seeks to prepare skilled specialists in the field of libraries and information to work in all the information facilities (libraries – information centers – archives) to provide information services to all the categories of beneficiaries.
Vision
The students of the Department of Libraries and Information can make a change in the world. They are responsible to ease the access of knowledge to everyone else. Moreover, they design and develop knowledge organization systems. In the Department of Libraries and Information, we are keen on improving our students’ organizational skills to graduate professional generations who can create reader’s advisory resources.
Goals
- To prepare qualified specialists able to work in information different organizations and centers.
- To prepare qualified specialists who can advance research and study and enrich the field's intellectual output.
- To prepare qualified specialists able to work in libraries all over ministries and country's sectors.
