Values and Goals

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Suez Canal University aims to advance and develop human sciences as we believe that human sciences are the main pillar of civilized prosperity. Moreover, it specializes in building the human being, which is the base of all development.

Hence, the faculty works to achieve the following goals:

  1. Preparing researchers specialized in the fields of languages, libraries, information systems, and population studies, with the aim of serving the community in general, the channel community, and a private Sinai.
  2. Conducting research in the areas of developing linguistic sciences, information systems, documentation, and population studies in a manner that participates in solving problems related to these aspects.
  3. Setting future strategies that serve society, culture, urban society and participation in the activities of society.
  4. Preparing researchers in the fields that serve communication between Arab and foreign cultures, especially in the channel community and the globally open Sinai.

Historical note

The specializations of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities are not limited to arts and language, but rather include community systems and urban planning in the new areas, as well as studying archeology and tourism in the Canal Region, which is one of the open areas on the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. Hence, this makes us in urgent need of specialists in this field, in addition to our dire need for cultural growth. Consequently, the idea of establishing the Faculty of Arts and Humanities was crystallized.

In 1944, the Faculty was established, and the actual implementation began with the preparation of a strong administrative body and headquarters for this Faculty. The proposed image and the teaching and research programs it contains represent were developed upon the Republican Decree No. 267 of 2006 to present a unique model in following up successive conferences scientifically, culturally, and civilly. All these factors created a model of a university that extends its faculties to cover five governorates and stands tall in the service of development. This is why the Faculty of Arts and Humanities will harness the cultural lessons for fruitful purposes with specific dimensions.
