Overview
Efforts done to face population problems in Egypt did not achieve the required goal to attain a balance between population growth and economic growth. Universities have a tangible role in preparing human cadres trained scientifically and professionally to deal in labour market. Department graduates can join Health, Housing, and Education Ministries. In addition, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Awqaf, the Ministry of Media, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Local Development, the Ministry of Manpower, and the Ministry of Emigration. The graduates can also work in all branches of the working authorities in the population field like the Central Agency for Statistics, National Population Council, the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, and Civil society authorities working in the field of population. There is a lack of specialists qualified and equipped with the scientific and practical abilities, and our department provides the community with such graduates.
Goals
- To prepare graduates who can study population changes related to fertility, birth, death, and emigration and its relation to the changing gender (Male-Female) age. To determine matching methods and trends to prevent population unbalance. (to identify population growth trends according to increase and decrease and to identify required procedures and policy).
- To prepare graduates who can provide visions, recommendations, and consultation in the field of population and issues linked to development and environment. To give attention to the social, geographical, economic, health, and historical dimensions in the Canal cities that relate to the population and development field.
- To prepare qualified and specialized cadres to be in charge of statistical and awareness duties in the population and family planning area.
- To prepare graduates who can contribute to developing and enhancing employees' abilities working population field along all governmental and private bodies and authorities.
- To prepare graduates who can transfer experiences, knowledge, and new sciences in the population field to make it match social and economic conditions in the canal cities.
- To prepare graduates who can contribute to spreading awareness about the importance of population issues and their relation to development.
