Overview
The Philosophy program is based on knowledge levels that harmonize with the current needs. It promotes knowledge and functionality skills for teachers, employees, students, and postgraduate studies students. Moreover, offering scientific solutions for the current situation and keeping pace with all updates on Arab and Western cultural achievements.
Goals
- To teach the students how to use their mental abilities and logic in judging things and phenomena, who can deal effectively with its information using their minds.
- To be familiar with the creative Arabic mentality that explains Greek philosophy and the role of Muslim philosophers in sending this philosophy to Europe that was experiencing grievance during the Middle age.
- To understand new and contemporary Western philosophy and its effects on forming European mentality with all of its sides, negative and positive.
- To study the old Eastern mentality that is shown in sciences, judges, and opinions of old eastern civilizations (Ancient civilizations, Mesopotamia, India, and China), to know the effects of those civilizations in science development, and to construct all sides of human civilization with all of its aspects.
- To build a vital non-judgmental mentality in the students as well as to show them the importance of civilization discussion that deepens national and civilization identity roots that participates with other nations and civilizations.
- To prepare teachers who are ready to educate philosophy topics for different stages.
